Havenwood of Buffalo, a new senior living community owned by Roers Companies and managed by Walker Methodist, celebrated its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Tuesday, August 25.

A small group of leaders was present at the community during the event, and several team members, future residents, family members, and others watched virtually. Three residents participated in the official ribbon cutting while others watched from their balconies. Following the ceremony, attendees were invited to experience a virtual tour of the new community.

Speakers at the Grand Opening included Elizabeth Meyer, executive director of sales at Walker Methodist; Chaplain Rev. Jeremiah Lideen; Teri Lachermeier, mayor of Buffalo; Sue Olmscheid, president of the Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Koch, co-founder of Roers Companies; Mike Bauer, founder and president of Bauer Design Build; Anneliese Peterson, vice president of operations at Walker Methodist; and Chanda Knoof, executive director of Havenwood of Buffalo.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Buffalo community,” said Knoof. “At Havenwood of Buffalo, we offer a fresh approach to senior living that brings vibrancy to all who live and work here and the community as a whole. Our amazing residents are why we do what we do every day; we are here because of them.”

Havenwood of Buffalo opened to residents this summer, offering 67 independent and assisted living, 18 memory care, and five care suites apartment homes. Residents enjoy a full range of amenities, life enrichment programs, and healthcare options.
